Tony Ward

Tony Ward, OBE, is a Non-Executive Director of SThree plc and OCS Group Limited. He was Group Services Director at BAA plc, having joined them in 1997 as HR Director. He was appointed to the board in 1999, when his role broadened to include IT, the Heathrow Express rail business and all Security and Safety matters - particularly significant aspects of risk management in BAA's business at all times, and especially so in the context of threatened terrorism and the development of Terminal 5.

Tony has been a member of the CBI's Employment Policy Committee and until 1996, sat on the Commission for Racial Equality, latterly as Deputy Chairman. Tony's earlier career was at Grand Metropolitan plc, where he had a mixture of operational and Group roles, and subsequently Kingfisher plc where he was Group HR Director

Tony is held in high regard for the quality of his strategic thinking and understanding both of leadership and of what makes for effective board relationships. As an Advisor to Manchester Square Partners, his experience at both Kingfisher and at BAA in advising his board colleagues helps them in developing the services which they offer to clients.
