Michael Webber
Michael is a founding partner of Manchester Square Partners. He works across industry sectors and functions, advising senior clients whose outcomes range from progressing directly in line with their earlier career to choosing a new and radically different direction.
While Michael has a broad background in banking and headhunting, he has always focused on the human rather than transactional dynamic of those businesses.
After spending his early life in South Africa, Italy and the UK, Michael’s first career was in international banking. He worked for Bank of America, Orion Bank, County Bank (NatWest) and Industrial Bank of Japan, leading to senior roles advising major capital markets borrowers around the world.
In 1997 Michael changed career direction, joining Goddard Kay Rogers, a leading UK executive search firm, where he specialised in financial services and general management search. On GKR's sale to Whitehead Mann in 2000, he became a Partner in Whitehead Mann's Financial Services group. In addition to leading senior financial services and management assignments, he managed the research team and the operations of the group.
In 2002, Michael decided to pursue his ambitions in the fields of career change and personal transition. After working independently for a year, he joined the board practice of a market leader in senior career advice.
Michael set up Manchester Square Partners in 2005, together with Kate Donaghy, to provide discrete, bespoke career advice to very senior executives.
Michael was educated in Italy and the UK, at The King's School, Canterbury. He has an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University, where he attended Jesus College, winning a Rowing Blue in 1973.
